ABOUT

Mela Stevens, is a national board-certified health coach (NBC-HWC) focused on holistic whole body and lifestyle wellness.  She is also an Integrative Nutrition Coach, Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach and a Quantum Coaching Lifestyle coach, in holistic practice for over two decades.  In addition, she is a registered yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner and energy alchemist.

She believes in whole body health, with the benefits of support through learning, practice, and accountability, as the cornerstone for sustainable change.  And that compassion for self and the process, coupled with use of all the senses—including the sense of humor, pave an easier path forward.  And, more than anything else, through clear intention, if there’s a will, there’s a way.

Mela is a life-long learner.  Currently she is studying Improv.  In addition to its fun, playful core, it also emphasizes practices of self-trust, co-creating with others, and aligned timing.  All practices Mela values.

She believes food is the key energy source and foundation point for being able to accomplish and experience all of life with presence, resilience, and joy.

Many clients who first come to Mela with goals of finding a way of eating that best suit them, find themselves also setting new goals for living life in a full and self-expressed manner, with a focus upon health.  This work is often complemented with energy work, movement and breathing practices, all which aid in stress and nervous system management.

As part of her yoga teaching, Mela teaches privately in person and on Zoom, at Rhinebeck Yoga Center, in Rhinebeck, NY ; Sadhana Center for Yoga and Meditation in Hudson , NY, and Elevate and Play in Red Hook, NY. She is also a teacher for Moving Potential, a non-profit organization that brings yoga, dance and mindfulness to those impacted by addiction and incarceration in recovery centers, jails and prisons, including their clients, families and staff. For the past two years, Mela has taught twice weekly at the Samaritan Day Top Village, Meadow Run Women’s Recovery Center in Rhinebeck.

As part of her devotion to movement practices for well-being, Mela was an original member of the Pacemakers Dance Team, a group comprised mostly of non-professional dancers and hobbyists in their sixth, seventh and eighth decade of life. Mela performed with the group for six years.

Mela, also a writer, has resided in the Hudson Valley for the past two decades, after an equal amount of time living in New York City.
